Crosfhocal #1

If you have been following our eight lessons so far, you would have amassed a few hundred words in Irish already. That’s pretty substantial and well done. The only way to retain those words is to practise, practise and practise. And we here at think a good way to practise is through games.

So we have created a crosfhocal based on the eight lessons. You can play online and check your answers. Are you ready for the challenge? If so, click here to play the game.

Some quick points on how to play the game. Firstly, the words are automatically capitalised for you, so you don’t have to worry about errors occurring if the letters are in capitals or small letters. Secondly, remember your fada letters, Á, É, Í, Ó and Ú. They are displayed on the Crossword page for easy insertion. And lastly, double words or sentence answers have no spaces e.g. the clue, ‘What is hello in Irish?’ The answer would be ‘Dia duit’, but you would enter ‘DIADUIT’ into the crossword.

Ádh mór!
