This week the world’s largest traditional Irish culture festival, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, is being held in Derry. It is the first time that it has ever been held in Northern Ireland in its 62 year history. It is a week long event, 11-18th August, and people from all over the world are expected to attetnd.
The core of the Fleadh is competition which aims to develop standards in Irish music attracting 20,000 musicians from all over the world. It also conducts many concerts, sessions, parades and céilidh.
